TERRY Henderson, co-manager of OTI Racing, confirmed yesterday the company would bolster its assault on the spring carnival, with four imports set to join its already powerful local line-up, reports the Melbourne Herald Sun.

It says: Henderson said Quest For Peace, an impressive winner of the Group 3 Glorious Stakes (2400m) at Goodwood on Friday night, would be aimed at the Melbourne Cup along with the John Gosden-trained Gatewood, who was third in the same race for OTI.

Luca Cumani, who trains Quest For Peace, will bring out another OTI horse, Ibicenco, whose last start was second in the 3200m Henry II Stakes at Sandown Park, England. The fourth horse is well-performed French stayer Prairie Star, who will join the Danny O'Brien stables.

OTI already has star middle-distance galloper Manighar, Queensland Derby winner Brambles and Drunken Sailor being prepared for the Cups. In Melbourne Cup betting, TAB Sportsbet has Ibicenco at $21, Manighar $26 and Quest For Peace $31.
