PAUL Snowden was feeling a little spoilt yesterday after the super workout of star colt Sepoy at Seymour further heightened his expectations of fellow elite colt Helmet's return at Flemington tomorrow, reports The Age.

It says: Both colts are bound for their new home in Dubai next month but while four-time group 1 winner Sepoy was the one impressing yesterday in his sizzling practice gallop, Snowden said that three-time group 1 winner Helmet would be out to do the same tomorrow when hot favourite in the C. S. Hayes Stakes.

''Helmet's probably more forward than he ever has been in his life, and he needs to be as he's going 1400, 1600 to 1900 metres, so there's no time to be mucking about with him,'' Snowden said. ''He's ready to run, that's for sure.''

Caulfield Guineas winner Helmet has two farewell runs planned for him this autumn as he will follow tomorrow's race with the group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 3 before he boards a plane a few days later to be in Dubai in time for the group 2 UAE Derby over the 1900-metre trip at Meydan on March 31.

Sepoy, under the guidance of race jockey Kerrin McEvoy, scorched down the Seymour home straight yesterday in what will be one of his final public appearances. He may still have another exhibition gallop before his return to racing at Caulfield in two weeks, but once he runs in the Oakleigh Plate, his Australian adventures are finished as he will race next in the Golden Shaheen in Dubai in front of owner Sheikh Mohammed.
