JUST the thought of racing's latest heroine More Joyous taking on the game's newest super horse in So You Think is enough to excite, reports Craig Young in the Sunday Age.

His report adds: The fact More Joyous is prepared by Gai Waterhouse and owned by John Singleton while So You Think has the master Bart Cummings onside is a promoter's dream.

The showdown is booked in for next month's Cox Plate at Moonee Valley after More Joyous produced yet another contemptible display. This time the four-year-old beat up on the older horses in yesterday's George Main Stakes at Randwick.

''She has beat the best we've got in NSW, she toyed with them,'' Waterhouse said after More Joyous claimed a second group 1 over the famed Randwick mile. ''I knew if she won, she'd win convincingly.''

The victory of More Joyous added some spark to the Waterhouse camp. Earlier in the day Herculian Prince finished last as favourite in the first race while stablemate Al Aseel bled a race later.

The effort of More Joyous wasn't lost on stand-in jockey Corey Brown yesterday. More Joyous was the third of four winners for Brown, who parked the four-year-old right on the hammer of Waterhouse's mauler and leader Theseo, which turned in the worst performance of his stellar career.

''She is a special racehorse with a great turn of foot,'' said Brown, who is set to make way for Theseo's regular jockey and Waterhouse's retained rider Nash Rawiller when the mare goes south.

''Today, I didn't have to do to much, she dragged me up to the lead. I got to Theseo too soon but it didn't matter. She is the perfect racehorse, push the button and she finds another gear.''

Racing NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy weighed Brown in and asked ''how was that?'' to which the jockey replied: ''I told you she was good last time.'' ''A damn good racehorse,'' Murrihy said. ''She has more than a couple of gears.''
