PETER Moody may have unearthed a two-year-old filly worthy of tackling the Blue Diamond series when Kiss A Rose made an exciting debut at Caulfield on Wednesday to continue the early winning run of new sire Sebring, reports The Age.

It says: Prominent bloodstock agent Cameron Cooke secured the daughter of Sebring for $180,000 at the Magic Millions Sales earlier this year for Queensland owner Les Cowell. Sebring stands at Widden Stud in New South Wales and leads the first-season sires' list with four winners from 13 runners. He provided the quinella in the opening race on Wednesday, with the Pat Hyland-trained Patricia Dawn chasing home the winner.

Kiss A Rose, the $3.50 favourite and ridden by Luke Nolen, settled off the pace before easing wide to produce a brilliant turn of foot at the 300 metres, eventually cruising to an easy win.

''I think she is [a talented filly]. She's a blank canvas,'' Nolen said. ''Every time she works at home and off the trial at Cranbourne she has improved, and she has definitely improved again today.''
