COMEBACK kid Katelyn Mallyon has already smashed through one of racing's glass ceilings and says she can break through another, reports the Melbourne Herald Sun.

It says: Mallyon, who makes her comeback from injury at Bendigo on February 9, is adamant she can add a Melbourne jockeys' premiership to her breakthrough win in the 2012 apprentices' title.

Mallyon, 18, became the first female to beat the boys in the local apprentices' title, knocking off her boyfriend Jake Noonan despite missing the winter through injury.

"I could do it -- definitely," she said. "My ambition is to win the Caulfield Cup -- my pop (Mick) won it three times -- but also to win a Melbourne Cup...Who says a female, whether it's me or someone else, can't win the premiership? A girl will win it in the next decade, for sure."
