ONE-TIME Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Pane In The Glass was yesterday back in the race for this month's $1 million event after her owner Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm paid up for the unbeaten filly at third declaration stage, reports The Age.

It says: Just two weeks ago, trainer John Thompson said the filly, who has won her three races in Brisbane and Sydney by a combined margin of 10 lengths, was likely to be reserved for April's Golden Slipper Stakes, but the Testa Rossa filly was one of 11 Patinack-owned horses paid up for yesterday.

Patinack Farm sponsors the Blue Diamond Stakes and horses from the four-state stable make up almost 20 per cent of the third acceptors after 63 youngsters remained in Victoria's premier two-year-old event at Caulfield on February 26.

Pane In The Glass must surely be one of the cheapest Blue Diamond contenders as Tinkler paid only $32,000 for her at the Inglis Classic Yearling sale in Sydney.

Five-time Blue Diamond Stakes-winning trainer David Hayes could be sitting on some highly talented youngsters as he paid up for eight runners, five of whom who are yet to race, including four Redoute's Choice colts - Poitier, Almahaab, Cross Of Gold and Niconoise.

The four are likely to emerge on Saturday week in the Blue Diamond Preludes.

Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Australia paid up for only three youngsters after heading the original list of entries for the race. These are Blue Diamond favourite Sepoy, who won the Preview so conclusively last month, as well as Redoute's Choice filly Glissade and the Exceed And Excel gelding Helmet, who is expected to run at Rosehill on Saturday.
