Top Queensland jockey Jim Byrne is hoping Saturday's rich Inglis Classic can be the springboard to even greater success for unbeaten filly Pane In The Glass.

Pane In The Glass has a stranglehold on betting for the $250,000 Inglis Classic (1200m) at Rosehill as she looks to extend the unbeaten start to her career to three.

Byrne has been ultra-impressed with the Testa Rossa filly and believes she has a role to play in major juvenile races later this season should she continue on her upward spiral.

"Obviously she's got to continue to improve but I spoke to (trainer) John (Thompson) earlier in the week and he was extremely pleased with the way she's going," Byrne said.

"I think on what she's doing at the moment if she improves again she's one of those horses who could race and be competitive in the better races.

"Everything she's done so far she's continued to improve and hopefully she'll do that again on Saturday."

Pane In The Glass, a $32,000 yearling purchase, won on debut at Eagle Farm in November in a performance Byrne said had "plenty of merit".

The filly then went to another level with a three-length Inglis Nursery (1000m) win at Randwick on December 18, which Byrne described as exceptionally good.

On that occasion the youngster sat back and wide in the $250,000 event and put the race beyond doubt with an explosive finishing burst.

"I thought it was an exceptional effort," Byrne said.

"She's got a good turn of foot and she took care of that race very quickly as soon as I let her down.

"I'm looking for something similar on Saturday."

The Patinack Farm-owned filly dominates Classic betting with TAB Sportsbet on Thursday writing $10,000 wagers at $1.60 and $1.50.

"There has been absolutely nothing backed to beat her," spokesman Matt Jenkins said.

"In fact, the biggest bet we've held on one of her rivals has been fifty dollars."

Pane In The Glass is now in to $1.45 with Pure Force, rated the main danger, drifting to $4.

They are the only two runners under single-figure odds with the Bede Murray stablemates California Poppy and Western Classic next at $12 and $14 respectively.

A Classic win will confirm Pane In The Glass' place at the top of Blue Diamond Stakes betting.

She shares early favouritism for next month's Group One feature with One Last Dance at $9.

With the start of the Sydney autumn carnival on the horizon, Byrne said there was the possibility of him making more frequent trips south should the opportunities present themselves.

"I want to go where the opportunities arise," he said.

"Nathan Tinkler and John Thompson have been giving me good opportunities to ride some of their nice horses and obviously if I'm able to follow those horses down there I'll definitely go."
