Last year it was knockabout trainer Michael Tubman and his fairytale filly Chance Bye who created headlines when claiming the Inglis Nursery and Inglis Classic double on the way to a Golden Slipper start.

This time it's the major breeding and racing operation of Patinack Farm who are chasing the same double with unbeaten filly Pane In The Glass - odds-on favourite for Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Classic (1200m) at Rosehill.

Nathan Tinkler has been a big spender at yearling sales around the country in recent years but the unbeaten Testa Rossa filly cost just $32,000 at the 2010 Classic Sale and has already collected more than $200,000 in prizemoney.

Pane In The Glass went up at $1.60 when TAB Sportsbet released its first market on Wednesday for the sale-restricted juvenile race which attracted a field of eight.

At the start of the week the race was shaping as a duel between Pane In The Glass and last Saturday's impressive debut winner Bossdon City from the Brett Cavanough stable.

However, Cavanough was informed on Monday that the stable had failed to complete the necessary paperwork and entry fee for the gelding to be eligible to compete, leaving Pane In The Glass in a promising position on paper.

Pane In The Glass hasn't raced since her dominant three-length win in the $250,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) on December 18 at Randwick.

"She's a little professional and I'm very happy with her," trainer John Thompson said.

"She went to the paddock for two weeks for a bit of a freshen-up after her last win and then she came back in to get ready for this race.

"She doesn't take much work and keeps herself pretty fit."

Inglis Nursery placegetter Pure Force is second favourite at $3.80 ahead of California Poppy at $8.50.

Top Queensland jockey Jim Byrne has ridden Pane In The Glass to both her victories and is looking forward to heading south to continue his association on Saturday.

"It doesn't matter where she'll be in the run because she's very adaptable and I'm quite excited," Byrne said.

Pane In The Glass was successful on debut over 1000m at Eagle Farm in November prior to her dominant performance in the Inglis Nursery.

"She had a wide barrier (11), she was wide most of the way and was still fairly dominant," Thompson said of the last-start success.

And he believes the filly has continued to thrive ahead of her Rosehill assignment.

"As a rule my horses keep improving with racing so with that in mind I'd like to think if she's not as good as before, she's better," he said.
