Last year’s Victoria Derby winner Polanski will stand at stud in Victoria this season, reports Racing Network.

After suffering a career-ending and life-threatening tendon injury after running in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes earlier this year, Polanski’s future had been in doubt.

Once his life was saved connections, they then set out to find a home for him as a stallion.

By the unfashionable Rakti, that looked unlikely, however trainer Robbie Laing yesterday confirmed the horse would be standing this breeding season at Roycevale Farm, in Violet Town.

Laing tweeted that details, including his service fee, would be announced soon.

Laing paid just $4000 for Polanski as a yearling and the horse won more than $1 million on the track before his untimely career-ending injury in the Futurity.
