Prolific country-winning jockey Dean Yendall has won the ride on prized colt Polanski for Saturday’s Group 1 $400,000 C. F. Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, reports Racing Network.

The last start winner of the Group 1 $1.5 million Victoria Derby, when ridden by Sydney ace Hugh Bowman, Polanski will again team with Yendall, who has won twice before on the son of Rakti – at Caulfield and in the Listed Super Impose Stakes at Flemington.

“Hugh Bowman won’t be in Melbourne this week so Dean Yendall has the ride.

"He’s done nothing wrong on him in the past so we’ve got no issue with putting Dean back on,” trainer Robbie Laing told Racing Network today.

“When Bowman is in Melbourne he’ll ride the horse,” Laing explained.

Polanski’s campaign will be determined by what happens on Saturday.

“If he comes out and runs very well on Saturday we may well go to the Futurity Stakes like All Too Hard did last year, then it’s two weeks to the Australian Guineas, so that works out really well,” Laing said.

“I notice he’s third favourite for the Australian Cup as well, so we’ve got a few options with him,” he said.
