ANTHONY CUMMINGS is banking on a change of fortune for his highly touted galloper Trader, which runs in the Top Cut Steaks Handicap at Rosehill today, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

Its report adds: ''I just don't know what went wrong at Ballarat last time out, I can't put my finger on it,'' Cummings said yesterday of Trader's flop as hot favourite at only his third start.

Trader was impressive in winning on debut then he stepped straight up in grade to tackle a race at Flemington during Melbourne Cup week when seventh to Burdekin Blues.

''Possibly they went too hard up in front at Ballarat but he still disappointed me,'' Cummings said. ''So I've brought him to Sydney and he's settled in well. He has barrier one which should be to his advantage and Glyn Schofield will ride him.''

Cummings has unraced two-year-old Big Sunday in the opening race at Rosehill but said he would instead save that horse for tomorrow's Wyong Magic Millions meeting.
