Two-time Group One winner Theseo will be given his chance to become Tulloch Lodge's latest weight-for-age star.

Trainer Gai Waterhouse confirmed an exclusive weight-for-age campaign for Theseo after the five-year-old scored a sparkling barrier trial win at Rosehill on Friday.

She has all but ruled out Theseo trying to add the Doncaster Mile to his 2008 Epsom Handicap triumph.

"His main goal for the autumn will be the Australian Cup in Melbourne," Waterhouse said.

"He is entered for the Doncaster Mile but I'm frightened he might get too much weight."

Waterhouse said she favoured the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) on the final day of the Australian Jockey Club's autumn carnival as a preferred Sydney option.

"The Queen Elizabeth Stakes looks a far more suitable race for him," she said.

Waterhouse-trained gallopers have won three of the past five editions of the Queen Elizabeth Stakes but she will be chasing her first Australian Cup success.

Theseo announced his arrival as a potential weight-for-age star with a tenacious win in the Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington during the spring carnival.

With Nash Rawiller in the saddle on Friday morning, Theseo dominated his Rosehill heat over 1030 metres.

He had almost four lengths to spare over his nearest rival, prompting Waterhouse to declare: "He's come back unbelievably well."

Theseo will be floated to Melbourne on Wednesday with the $400,000 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 7 as a first-up target.

He will then progress to the $200,000 St George Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 21 as his final hitout before the $1 million Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 7.

After winning the Epsom Handicap at Randwick, Theseo scored a breakthrough weight-for-age win in the Mackinnon Stakes over the Australian Cup course.

Rawiller, who rode Theseo in the Mackinnon Stakes, has been booked for the Orr Stakes ride.
