Emirates Stakes winner Happy Trails had a jump-out at Morphettville on Tuesday in preparation for his Spring Carnival campaign. Trainer Paul Beshara told Racing Network Happy Trails would resume in the Group 3 $115,000 Spring Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday week.

“He had a nice jump-out here this morning and went really well.

"I’m a little bit behind with him because of all the rain we have had here and I’d love to get another trial into him, but it’s not going to happen,” Beshara told RN.

Happy Trails went back to SA from Sydney for a well-earned spell after his eye-catching third in the Group 1 $500,000 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) behind international star Reliable Man and ATC Derby winner It’s A Dundeel.

“He’ll go straight to Melbourne after the Spring Stakes here, which he won last year, and his first run there will be the Memsie (Stakes),” Beshara said.

Happy Trails ran second in the race last year behind Sincero, before winning the Feehan Stakes (Dato Tan Chin Nam) and the $1 million Emirates Stakes (1600m) at the end of the carnival, after running tenth in the Cox Plate.

“He’ll go Memsie, Dato, Turnbull, Cox Plate then we’ll have a look again at the Emirates I guess,” Beshara concluded.
