Glamour filly Samantha Miss is out of the autumn carnival after damaging a tendon during trackwork at Newcastle.

Shattered trainer Kris Lees confirmed on Tuesday the three-year-old was galloping in preparation for Saturday week's Surround Stakes at Randwick when the injury occurred.

"She has gone amiss," he said on his website.

"After she cooled down following a track gallop this morning there was a little bit of thickness in her near-side tendon.

"The vet has been in and scanned her and the tendon is strained.

"She'll go to Sydney for further scans to decide which way we go with her but she is out for the autumn."

The three-time Group One winner came back after her VRC Oaks triumph in November with a fast-finishing second to Rock Me Baby in the Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 14 and was to run in the Surround Stakes en route to the Group One Coolmore Classic and AJC Australian Oaks.

Samantha Miss has won seven of her 12 starts with four placings for prizemoney in excess of $1.7 million.
