Racing Victoria’s International scout, Leigh Jordan, says Gordon Lord Byron is a chance to come to Melbourne and tackle Lankan Rupee, reports Racing Network.

A winner of the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) in Sydney during The Championships earlier this year,Gordon Lord Byron is due to run in the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock in the UK tomorrow night (Saturday).

Jordon today said he had spoken to connections and they were keen to come back to Australia.

“He runs in the Group 1 sprint this weekend and connections have mentioned coming for the Lankan Rupee,Slade Power clash,” Jordon said.

“I’ve spoken to his trainer and he’s considering it.

"I’d say if he runs well this weekend he’d be a chance (to come).”

Gordon Lord Byron ran against Lankan Rupee when sixth in the Group 1 $2.5 million T. J. Smith Stakes (1200m) on the last day of The Championships.
