Gai Waterhouse stamped her authority on TAB’s Australian Guineas market by producing impressive galloper Bull Point fresh from a spell to down a hot field in the John Moule Manfred Stakes at Caulfield. Bull Point knocked off a handful of Guineas hopefuls. TAB reacted immediately to the win by slashing his price from $9.00 to be an outright $6.00 favourite ahead of Cox Plate champion Shamus Award.

The fallout from the Guineas means that Prince Harada, the $7 favourite prior to the Manfred, has drifted to $12 while The Quarterback, a fast-finishing 3rd behind Bull Point, has come in slightly ($13 into $12).

Hucklebuck, a strong winner at Morphettville today, is $13 into $12, and shares the third line of betting. Some of the bigger bets placed on Bull Point in the Manfred today were: $5,000 @ $3.40, $3,000 @ $3.40 (twice) and $2,500 @ $3.40 (twice)

Shamus Award                $7
