Two year-old Choisir filly Magic Model stamped herself as a filly of potential when she resumed from a spell of 15 weeks to score a bold win in the open juvenile event over 1400 metres at Rosehill, reports Breednet.com.au. Ridden forward to lead, the David Payne trained Magic Model was headed in the straight but fought back strongly to score by a neck in her first appearance since finishing seventh beaten two and a half lenghts by Golden Slipper runner-up Headway in the Group Three AJC Sweet Embrace Stakes.

Payne believes his filly is up to stakes class now and will be aiming her in that direction come the spring. "I'd like to have a go at the Golden Rose," said Payne, who finished a close second in the race last year with another smart filly in Stripper. "It's still two months away though so we'll just see what happens between now and then."
