Chris Waller has confirmed he will open a 20-horse stable on the Gold Coast to be managed by Paul Shailer.

Champion Sydney trainer Chris Waller has confirmed his Queensland satellite stable will be on the Gold Coast.

The facility will be managed by Paul Shailer who spent many years as Waller's assistant in Sydney before returning to New Zealand where he trained in his own right for several years.

Waller said in a release the stable would have 20 boxes and complement his Sydney and Melbourne establishments.

"I am excited by the diversification that the Queensland stable will offer us for the future and am sure it will complement the options we can provide to our owners to ensure we continue to maintain the highest level of service for all horses under my care," Waller said.

"The acquisition of a freehold property at the Gold Coast will see us in a position to further our involvement in races during the Queensland winter carnival and ensure we have adequate space during the rich Magic Millions carnival over the summer months.

"In addition it will provide further options for horses to earn prize money at various stages of the year to maximise their earning potential during times when programming sees it beneficial for them to complete in Queensland."

Waller also has stables at Rosehill and Warwick Farm in Sydney and Flemington in Melbourne.
