A four-month plan to target the Group One Emirates Stakes at Flemington came to fruition for Randwick trainer Grahame Begg when All Silent powered away from his rivals for an easy win on Saturday.

The Belong To Me five-year-old is raced by a syndicate put together by Begg's father Neville, a former leading Sydney trainer, and meant plenty to the family as it was Grahame Begg's second win in the $1 million 1600m feature after Bonanova's success in 1999.

Grahame Begg, who finished fourth with Our Egyptian Raine to Sky Cuddle in the 2004 Emirates Stakes, brought only two horses down for the Melbourne Cup carnival and stayed at Lee Freedman's Markdel training establishment at Rye on the Mornington Peninsula.

He won three races for the week , All Silent also winning the Group Three AAMI Travel Insurance Stakes (1400m) on Derby Day and three-year-old filly Palacio De Cristal taking out a 1700m event on Oaks day.

Ridden by Dwayne Dunn, replacing the suspended Damien Oliver, All Silent ($6.50 fav) jumped from barrier four and was buried in the middle of the 16-horse field one out from the rail.

But once he secured a run 350m out he exploded away to score by 3-1/4 lengths from Sea Battle ($8) with Mimi Lebrock ($8.50) three-quarters of a length away third.

"He finishes his races off so well, he doesn't know how to lay down, he just really attacks the line hard," Begg said.

"We set him for this race four months ago and it's all worked out well.

"He's entered for Hong Kong and for Perth but I would say he'll more than likely be going home.

"If you go away he won't be running in the autumn."

The gelding is out of the Semipalatinsk mare Lisheenowen as is three-time Group One winner Private Steer, winner of a Stradbroke Handicap, Doncaster Handicap and All-Aged Stakes.

Begg said he was fortunate to get All Silent to train because he was sent to Hong Kong to be trained but didn't settle in and was returned to Sydney.

"Basically he was too immature, He lay down for 18 months, and the owners were a bit impatient unfortunately and decided to send him back and the rest is history," he said.

All Silent didn't race until a late three-year-old when he won a restricted 1300m race on the Kensington track at Randwick in July last year.

He has raced only 11 times for five wins.

"A few jockeys have said he'll run 2000 metres and that was only his eleventh start so he's still got it all ahead of him," Begg said.

"We've been careful planning his races. He's been taken along very quietly."

Dunn said All Silent didn't give him much of a feel on the track.

"But when I asked him for an effort he really exploded and just put them away very easily," he said.
