Italian import Sneak A Peek is back in work for trainer Peter Moody

Italian import Sneak A Peek is back in work for trainer Peter Moody with the five-year-old to be set for the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, reports Racing Victoria.

Moody said the lightly-raced entire, who finished seventh in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington before running eighth in the Group 1 BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) during the Spring, missed the Melbourne Festival of Racing with a leg injury.

“He had a bit of a training mishap where he kicked a wall and hurt a leg so we just had to slightly back off him,” Moody said.

“He’s back in work at the moment but he won’t be ready for Brisbane (Winter Racing Carnival).

“We might get him up to a trial and then back off him again and get him ready for the Spring.”

A son of Irish sire Doyen, Sneak A Peek boasts six career victories from 15 starts including a win at Group 2 level in Italy over last year’s Melbourne Cup third placegetter Jakkalberry.
