Peter Moody has confirmed talented French import Kesampour will be in his 2013 Spring Racing Carnival team.

Formerly trained by Mikel Delzangles, who is well known in Australia as the trainer of BMW Caulfield and Emirates Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden, the four-year-old son of King’s Best could prove a possible Sportingbet Cox Plate or BMW Caulfield Cup contender on his best form.

Fourth in the Group 1 Prix Du Jockey Club (2086m) at Chantilly in June 2012, the bold frontrunner was last seen finishing 13th in the Group 1 Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe (2400m) at Longchamp in October.

Though admitting it was too early to say what level he expected Kesampour to measure up to in the Spring, Moody said the gelding was currently in work at his Caulfield stables.

“He’s at the stables familiarising himself at the moment and then he’ll have a break and get ready for the Spring,” Moody said.

Kesampour is owned in the same interests as Moody’s Italian import Sneak A Peek, as well as multiple Group 1 winner Shoot Out who is trained by leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller.

Moody has already proven his ability to achieve success with European imports highlighted by 2012 Australian Cup (2000m) victor Manighar who has claimed three Group 1s since being transferred to Moody.

Other imports to perform well for Moody include 2012 Underwood Stakes (1800m) runner-up Voila Ici, as well as My Quest For Peace and Ibicenco who both performed well over distances well short of their best in Brisbane recently.
