Three Caulfield Cup runners have new riders following a sensational afternoon of jockey developments.

Southern Speed will now be ridden by Nash Rawiller, Jim Cassidy is on Glencadam Gold and Glen Boss will partner Sneak A Peek.

The merry-go-round started when Boss sought a release from defending champion Southern Speed, who he rode for the first time in last Saturday's Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m), in which the star mare was a disappointing 15th.

Southern Speed's co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas were happy to release Boss, who is yet to win a Caulfield Cup, which has paved the way for Nash Rawiller to take the ride on Southern Speed.

Rawiller is stable jockey for Gai Waterhouse, trainer of Caulfield Cup favourite Glencadam Gold, but Rawiller is unable to make the import's weight of 53.5kg.

Glencadam Gold was a runaway winner of last Saturday's Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap (2400m) at Randwick under rising star Tommy Berry but connections were eager to employ an experienced rider.

They have turned to 49-year-old Jim Cassidy, a two-time winner of the Caulfield Cup, on Might And Power in 1997 and Diatribe three years later.

Boss picked a replacement ride late in the afternoon when he was confirmed as the rider for Sneak A Peek, who will be one of three runners for Victoria's leading trainer Peter Moody.
