A decision on a weekend stakes target for dual acceptor Torio's Quest will be left as late as possible.
Torio's Quest, a sprinter on the move, has been entered for the South Pacific Classic at Randwick on Saturday as well as the Gosford Guineas on Sunday.
"I will probably wait until the last minute but my first thoughts are to lean towards the Guineas," trainer Brett Partelle said.
"The Guineas is a set weights race and under the conditions he is very favourably placed."
Torio's Quest is the 58kg topweight in the 1400m South Pacific Classic but has three kilograms less in the Gosford Guineas over 1200m.
Both races carry a Listed rating but at $250,000 the Guineas' purse is more than double the Randwick race's prize money.
"The weather will also be a key to where we go," Partelle said.
"He's won in the wet but I'd rather it dry so he can use his turn of foot on top of the ground."
Early betting has the Magic Millions Guineas winner a $7.50 chance for Randwick while he has been posted at $9.50 for the Guineas.
Torio's Quest has raced once since his Magic Millions win for an unplaced run in the Darby Munro Stakes.
"He's back to where he was when he won the Magic Millions ... in great order," Partelle said.
Torio's Quest has been pencilled in for a return to Queensland after he runs in the $150,000 Hawkesbury Guineas on April 30.
"Brisbane has been the plan since we decided to skip the Doncaster and he'll be nominated for the Stradbroke Handicap," Partelle said.
Leading Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman, who has won two races on Torio's Quest including the Magic Millions, has been booked for both Randwick and Gosford.
