Clarry Conners has accepted with The Last General in Sydney on Saturday as road closures in northern NSW put his Magic Millions Guineas appearance in doubt.

The Last General is not the only Sydney-based Guineas hopeful in danger of not getting to the Gold Coast because of the floods with the Chris Waller-trained American Crew, the Gary Portelli's Butt I'm Ready and also the Wyong-based Torio's Quest in the same situation.

If those horses can't get to the Gold Coast it would pave the way for second favourite Intencion, the second emergency, to gain a start.

Conners said he had accepted for Saturday's Bacardi Bar Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill and The Last General would run there if he couldn't get to the Gold Coast.

"I don't know what we are going to do," Conners told Sky Sports Radio on Wednesday.

"Reports are that the roads are closed at Grafton and I think there's different parts of road closed on the New England Highway also.

"I don't know how I'm going to get him there at this stage."

Conners had scheduled to travel The Last General to the Gold Coast on Tuesday night but those plans were scrapped.

He said if they had to wait until Thursday to leave he would have to discuss with the owners about whether they would still head north.

"As a precaution I've accepted with him in Sydney," Conners said.

"I had him nominated there also in case he didn't get a run (in the Magic Millions Guineas), but he did get a run.

"If something happens where we can't go then we'll have to stay and race in Sydney."

The Last General came up with barrier seven at Wednesday's draw in the Guineas field of 16 plus five emergencies.

Torio's Quest has the outside barrier while favourite Top Drop came up with barrier 13 with three of the emergencies drawn inside him.

Trainer Brett Partelle's plan was for Torio's Quest to depart Wyong for the Gold Coast on Wednesday night.

Magic Millions Classic contenders Snippets Of Glory, Fast And Sexy and Combat Kitty were also still in Sydney on Wednesday.

Horses from Queensland could also face difficulties getting to the Gold Coast including Group One winner Captain Sonador from Toowoomba.

Top Drop is the $4.20 favourite for the Magic Millions Guineas ahead of Intencion at $5 while Celtic Dancer and Torio's Quest are both at $7.50.

Torio's Quest drifted from $6.50 to $7.50 after coming up with the outside gate.
