Trainer Tracey Bartley got what he expected when Group One winner Sniper's Bullet was given topweight of 58.5kg for Saturday's Villiers Stakes at Randwick.

Bartley anticipated the 2007 Stradbroke Handicap winner would be given no more than 58.5kg for the Group Two feature after contacting Racing NSW handicappers earlier on Monday.

He described the weight as "fair" and said he wouldn't have wanted more because the horse had not won in more than 12 months.

The summer feature will return to 1600m on Saturday after being run at 1400 in January this year when the NSW racing schedule was thrown out of kilter because of the equine influenza outbreak.

Sniper's Bullet arrived in Sydney late last week after being flown from Perth to Melbourne after competing in two Group One races in the west.

The five-year-old was placed in the Railway Stakes and Kingston Town Classic in a two-start Perth campaign but has not won since his Stradbroke Handicap triumph in June last year.

Queenslander Rags To Riches from the Liam Birchley yard, has been given 55kg, while Something Anything, a winner at Rosehill on Saturday, has 54.5kg.

Rags To Riches won the Listed Recognition Stakes at Eagle Farm two starts back.

The Paul Cave-trained German Chocolate has 54kg as he looks for his first win since the Group Two Premiere Stakes (1200m) in August last year.

Last start Festival Stakes (1500m) winner Voice Commander will carry 53kg.

Meanwhile, the Chris Waller-trained Double Dare has the topweight of 58kg for the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m).

Double Dare had an interrupted run in the Group One Stradbroke (1400m) in June won by Mr Baritone to be beaten less than half a length.

He had one Sydney spring start in The Shorts at Randwick on October 4 where he finished out of the placings and again failed to come up to expectations in two starts in Melbourne.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained June Stakes (1100m) winner Mister Celestial has 55.5kg while Tenant's Tiara, the tough Strada Stakes (1200m) winning mare from the Kevin Moses yard has 53.5kg.
