Nash Rawiller believes Gold Water can avenge her recent loss to Gallica when the pair clash in the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

Punters disagree with the top jockey with Gallica the $2.80 TAB Sportsbet favourite for the 2000-metre feature while the Gai Waterhouse-trained Gold Water is rated a $10 chance.

Gallica beat Gold Water by a short neck in a thrilling finish to the Kewney Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on March 7.

"I felt another furlong (200m) in that race and she would have pulled her back and won and I think she's got a huge chance of winning this race," Rawiller said.

The win by the Mick Price-trained Gallica turned the tables on frontrunner Gold Water who defeated her by more than two lengths one start earlier in the Angus Armanasco Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield.

Gold Water has drawn barrier 15 while Gallica is her neighbour in gate 14.

"She makes her own luck, so I'm not worried about the draw, she'll go forward and put herself in a nice spot," Rawiller said.

"She worked well on Tuesday morning and I've always thought she'd love running the 2000 metres and I can't wait for her to have a crack at it."

Gallica will be ridden by Damien Oliver who has won the Vinery Stud twice with Northwood Plume in 1995 and Special Harmony in 2004.

Oliver was aboard Gallica for the Kewney victory but it was Craig Newitt who rode the Redoute's Choice filly in her last-start win in the Group One Australasian Oaks (2005m) at Morphettville on March 21.

On the same day, Gold Water finished eighth to Typhoon Tracy in the Group One Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill where she was ridden by apprentice Daniel Ganderton.

Waterhouse has two wins in the Vinery Stud courtesy of Tempest Morn in 2001 and Shower Of Roses in 2003.
