The West Aussies remain keen on Mr Moet for the Australian Cup...Trainer Adam Durrant says: 'His run was pleasing in the Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield. He had to do all the donkey work and he was still strong on the line...Hopefully the bigger track at Flemington suits him. We have probably covered three or four more lengths than the winner, so the switch to Flemington and the longer distance will suit my horse. The Australian Cup was why we came here.'' Mick Kent gave High Shot the day off last Saturday rather than starting in the Autumn Classic but he'll be accompanying stablemate Philippi in the Grp 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington. Kent admits the 1600m of Saturday's race is short of High Shot's best trip but the race fits nicely into his program as he preps towards Sydney. He says: ''They will probably be too quick for him at Flemington but if he can perform well there, we can head to Sydney with a bit of confidence...Hopefully the rain sticks around a bit longer up there because he loves it wet and is going to be better suited over more ground.''
