Top filly Srikandi is likely to run in the Group 1 $500,000 Tatt’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 21. Trainer Ciaron Maher told Racing Network the filly had come through Saturday’s Group 1 $1.36 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) in great shape.
“She has come through great...Very bright and well,” Maher said.
He indicted after the filly’s third placing in the Stradbroke that he would run in the Tatt’s Tiara.
“If it wasn’t a Group 1 she wouldn’t run, but we’re here, she’s well and it’s a Group 1 for fillies and mares, so there’s not really much reason to miss the race,” he said.
Maher agrees Srikandi has come a long way in a very short time.
She went into the Stradbroke having won her previous five starts and her brave run on Saturday proves she has risen to another level this preparation.
