BYPASSING the Stradbroke might be the edge Varenna Miss needs to turn the tables on hot favourite Beaded in Saturday's Group 1 Tatt's Tiara, reports the Brisbane Courier-Mail.

It says: That's the opinion of Tony Noonan's stable foreman Mick Robins, who says Varenna Miss continues to thrive in Queensland. The Redoute's Choice mare is unbeaten in two starts this winter, the latest coming in the QTC Cup on June 4.

"She won that race well from a wide barrier. The horse that won the Stradbroke (Sincero) ran 11th. It's a pretty strong formline," Robins said in the absence of Noonan, who is holidaying in the US. The thing going for us is she didn't run in the Stradbroke and she's going in as the fresh horse.

"If she was going to stud, the owner (Glen Frazer) and Tony probably would have run her (in the Stradbroke), but I think she will be a better mare next prep. She's only had 10 races."

Robins did confess to being daunted by the clash with Beaded, who easily accounted for Varenna Miss at Caulfield in February and meets her on 2.5kg better terms this week.
