Good news for Saturday...Despite some 300mm (12 inches) of rain soaking the Doomben track since Monday night, Queensland racing officials are predicting the Doomben 10,000 meeting will go ahead...Queensland Racing's chief steward Wade Birch and Doomben facility manager Warren Williams inspected the track yesterday morning. They rated it Heavy-10 but they noted a sharp improvement from the previous day. On Friday morning, Brisbane was again bathed in sunshine. There was hardly a cloud in the sky.
