Risen From Doubt, second favourite for the Blue Diamond, is an unlikely starter in the $1 million race. Trainer Tony McvEvoy has left Risen From Doubt, a $7 pick for the Diamond with Sportsbet.com.au, in the paddock following his effortless Maribyrnong Trial Plate victory at Flemington on October 5, reports Racing Network.

McEvoy says while it is possible for youngsters to run in both the Diamond and the Golden Slipper, it is an onerous assignment and one he doesn’t want to set for Risen From Doubt.

“I thought he was growing a little bit so I left him in the paddock for a bit longer. He’s not back in work yet,” McEvoy said. “So, that's pretty much ruled out the Diamond.”

Risen From Doubt, a son of Not a Single Doubt, is an $11 second favorite for the Slipper with Sportsbet.com.au.

Piacenza on the other hand, a luckless third in the Debutant Stakes at Caulfield in October, is definitely Diamond-bound.

“She’s back in work and has done beautifully,” McEvoy said.

Sportsbet.com.au rates Piacenza at $17 in markets that have Earthquake the $3 favorite.

In other stable news, McEvoy is considering taking three-year-old filly Bring a Ring, beaten in a three-way photo in Saturday’s Blackwoods Pacific Hoist Handicap at Rosehill, to the Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast on January 11.
