Prolific winning NSW rider Greg Ryan has appealed against his six week suspension handed down yesterday by Racing NSW stewards.

This morning Ryan lodged an appeal against the suspension resulting from his ride on Grey Pariz at Dubbo, on June 20.

Stewards charged and found him guilty under rule 135(b), which deals with failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to win or obtain the best possible placing in a race.

Ryan, currently Australia’s leading jockey for the season with 143 wins, was suspended from midnight on July 9 to midnight on August 19.

No date has yet been set for the hearing of the appeal. (Racing Network)
