Smith began proceedings in New Zealand's High Court at Hamilton last December seeking a declaration that she "holds the sole property and breeding rights associated with (So You Think's dam) Triassic". The defendants, Moran and his wife Helen, did not contest Smith's ownership of Triassic, but advised of a counterclaim over their entitlements to any future progeny of the mare. At stake is the younger full-brother to So You Think, who is scheduled to be sold in January. He ranks among the most valuable yearlings in the southern hemisphere.
