If weights for the Caulfield Cup are raised 1.5kg as expected, Nash Rawiller has been confirmed as the rider for Caulfield Cup second favourite, Royal Descent. Trainer Chris Waller has released a statement saying Rawiller has committed to ride the mare below his normal weight restrictions, providing the weights are raised at least 1.5kgs.

Lloyd Williams’ Green Moon needs to come out of the race for the weights to be raised.

Waller said Royal Descent’s connections wanted Rawiller to ride the mare as he has ridden her before.

Royal Descent, the ATC Oaks winner in the autumn, is the second favourite at $7 behind stable-mate Hawkspur for the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup (2400m) on Saturday week.
