GAI Waterhouse’s import Fiorente could snatch Turnbull Stakes favouritism from Puissance De Lune, says TAB.com.au. Just minutes after betting opened on Saturday’s Flemington feature, one punter pounced with a $5000 bet at $5.50 on Fiorente.
“Maybe we were a tad generous … there were few other smaller bets and we’ve since cut Fiorente’s odds from $5.50 to $4.60,” TAB’s Adam Hamilton said.
“Puissance De Lune is out from $3.90 to $4, while we’ve also eased Super Cool ($8 to $9), Hawkspur ($9 to $9.50) and Fawkner ($13 to $15) among others.”
Fiorente has been a buzz horse for tab.com.au punters since his barnstorming Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes win at Moonee Valley two weeks ago.
He has been tremendously well supported to win the Cox Plate over the past two weeks, including another $5000 at $7. He’s now into $6.50.
