Star jockey Hugh Bowman has been suspended for his winning Epsom Handicap ride on Winx at Randwick last Saturday, costing him Group 1 rides on Terravista and Trip To Paris.

Bowman is set to miss out on riding Terravista in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on October 23, and also the Ed Dunlop-trained Trip To Paris in Saturday week's Caulfield Cup.

He is set to return Cox Plate Day.

Trainer Joe Pride confirmed James McDonald will take the ride on the Darley Classic winner.

Near the 500m mark of the mile race, Bowman appeared to make contact to Kirramosa's riderBlake Shinn with his elbow - and Racing NSW stewards hit him with a careless riding charge.

A statement from Racing NSW declared the stewards were satisfied Bowman's use of his elbow was not deliberate, but 'instinctive and incidental'.

Stewards used Hawkeye technology to view eight different angle of the incident, in which Bowman's mount Winx interfered with Kirramosa while trying to improve around Sons Of John.

The Sydney-based hoop has been in stellar form of late, backing up his Epsom success with victory aboard Preferment in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington last Sunday.
