Racing Queensland stewards have hit Damian Browne with a six week ban for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures aboard Kingtantes at a recent Eagle Farm meeting. Browne pleaded not guilty to the charge and is considering whether he will fight the ban that would rule him out of the Sydney autumn carnival, where he was set to partnerBuffering in the TJ Smith Stakes. Stewards deemed Browne failed to take a run betweenCaptain Kitinger and rival Busy at the top of the straight and lacked sufficient vigour between the 400m and 250m. Kingtantes trainer Robert Heathcote backed Browne during the inquiry, telling stewards he thought there was nothing sinister in the ride. Browne will ride Fire Up Fifi at Warwick Farm on Saturday and his suspension will begin on Sunday night if he decides against appealing.
