SWEET Little Lies is a filly that may start at odds of just $2 in today's Blue Diamond Stakes Preview at Caulfield, but despite the positive reviews she has received since her debut win earlier this month, the feet of her trainer Mat Ellerton remain firmly on the ground, reports The Age.

It adds: ''She hasn't missed a beat and has been ticking over really well, but she's still got to go out and do it,'' the Flemington trainer said. ''We couldn't be happier with her, but this race is a different ball game altogether.''

Despite not being entered for the $1 milllion Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield next month, Sweet Little Lies was touted as the horse to beat in the race following her 4¥-length debut win, as her connections are still able to pay a sizeable late-entry fee to include her. But Ellerton is mindful the Elusive Quality filly could be a Thousand Guineas horse as a three-year-old and is wary of pushing her too far.

''It's nearly three weeks since she ran and she's just ticked over well and she's ready to race,'' he said. ''She's got good speed but so have a few of the other fillies, such as Freedy's [Sabie, trained by Anthony Freedman] and Robert Smerdon's [Members Joy], so it'll be interesting to see how she goes.''
