GOLDEN Slipper winner Sepoy is almost certain to leave Australian shores within the next 12 months - setting up the possibility of a mouth-watering clash with Black Caviar at Royal Ascot in 2012, reports the Brisbane Courier-Mail.

It says: With Peter Snowden still amazed after achieving his career highlight, he confirmed Sepoy would head straight to the paddock and be given two more preparations under his care. He will then join Sheik Mohammed's famous global racing operation Godolphin after next year's autumn carnival.

"He will definitely be here for the next 12 months, but we feel he is the sort of horse that should be going to Royal Ascot, if he was able to win a race over there it would make him a dual hemisphere stallion, that is what the boss [Sheik Mohammed] is all about," Snowden said. "It's heartbreaking for Australian racing but he is definitely a horse that could fly the flag and be a successful stallion on both sides [of the world]."
