Premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller is quietly confident one of his many stable stars – Boban – can continue on his winning ways at Royal Randwick on Saturday, reports Racing Network.

Boban was unbeaten last preparation winning two-Group 1’s and everything he ran in both in Sydney and Melbourne. He will resume in the Group 2 $200,000 Expressway Stakes (1200m) and Waller says the horse is in good order heading into the race.

“He seems to have come back well,” Waller told TVN at the track in Sydney this morning. “You have to remember this is a long way from his Grand Final on Saturday but his class will take him a long way,” Waller said.

He made a point of saying the horse had not spelled particularly well, preferring, in fact, to life in the stable than in a spelling paddock.

“No, he didn’t spell all that well but he’s thriving now he’s back in the stable,” he explained.

Boban hasn’t raced since winning the Group 1 $1 million Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on the last day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival in November.
