Group performer Silent But Deadly headlines a trio of last-start winners in action for trainer Kris Lees at Canterbury on Wednesday.

The Newcastle horseman believes the four-year-old, along with Magic Tyson and Donoso, have all done well enough since their recent outings to suggest they will all be in the money again.

Silent But Deadly is the first runner for the stable with the Choisir mare lining up in the Canterbury Park Event Centre Handicap (1550m).

She broke a long winning drought when she produced a dominant performance to lead all the way and defeat Maxim by 1-1/4 lengths over 1500 metres at Newcastle on July 25.

She had not won since beating Velocity Gal by 1-1/4 lengths at Canterbury in April last year.

"She needed that win to get a bit of confidence back and she's going really well now we've got her up over a journey," Lees said.

"She's done very well since the run and hopefully she can get the job done again on Wednesday."

Prior to her Newcastle victory Silent But Deadly ran fifth to Bejewelled at Randwick over 1400 metres.

From 15 starts Silent But Deadly has two wins and seven thirds.

Silent But Deadly has run third in stakes races on four occasions including last year's Group Two Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Randwick won by Montana Flyer.

Magic Tyson scored first-up from a 15-week spell at Newcastle on the same day as Silent But Deadly.

The four-year-old gelding overcame interference at the start of the 900-metre race to come from near the tail of the field to defeat Big Ethan by a half-length.

Magic Tyson has three wins and a placing from seven starts and runs in the Racing's Night Of Champions Handicap (1100m).

"He continues to please and I'm expecting him to be competitive again," Lees said.

Donoso is entered in the final race of the day, the Rosehill Gardens Event Centre (1900m).

The five-year-old flew home to edge out Bien Pensant at Gosford over 1600 metres on July 30 second-up after a 19-week spell.

"He'll really appreciate the step up in distance and should go very well," Lees said.

Prior to his break, Donoso won at Newcastle over 1850 metres in February after winning over the same distance at the same venue a month earlier.

Premier Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman will partner all three of Lees' runners.
