While several of the two-year-olds racing this weekend are launching last-ditch attempts to get into the Magic Millions field, trainer Chris Waller is resigned to not having a runner in the Gold Coast showpiece.

Although a win by either of his two Randwick runners, Subarc and Fast And Sexy, would cement a berth in the Classic a week later, Waller said it was not the plan.

"They won't be running in the Magic Millions even if they win on Saturday," Waller said.

"It's too hard to ask them to back up and there are other races in the autumn."

The Waller-trained Ingham Magic is equal 24th in the order of entry for the 16-horse Classic and will run if she should happen to gain a start.

"If she gets in that's good but we weren't tempted to run her this week to get her in," he said.

Ingham Magic ran second on debut last week, beaten by Pepper Jet who was elevated to second favouritism following that victory with Karuta Queen still holding sway at the top of the market.

Rival trainer Matthew Smith is taking the opposite approach to Waller with Combat Kitty who takes on Fast And Sexy and Subarc in the Vale John Bradshaw Handicap (1200m) at Randwick.

Combat Kitty missed racing on New Year's Day due to an elevated temperature but has been given the all-clear for this weekend with Smith keen for her to run at the Gold Coast.

She is currently a $10 chance with TAB Sportsbet for the Magic Millions.

Among Waller's other runners at the Randwick meeting is exciting prospect Brayroan who lines up in Saturday metropolitan company for the first time in the AJC Corporate Membership Hcp (1600m).

The four-year-old has won his past three starts and has been tuned up for his first run since mid-December with a comfortable barrier trial on Tuesday.

"He's in better company this time but he looks well weighted with 56 (kilograms)," Waller said.

"He's a progressive horse and his record says that."

Waller will also give Dystopia the chance to turn the tables on Hide `n' Dash in the Autumn Carnival On Sale Now Hcp (1200m).

The Gerald Ryan-trained Hide `n' Dash edged Dystopia out of a win last Saturday week when she had a 1-1/2 kilogram weight advantage.

This time the two meet on level terms with Waller changing his mind about giving Dystopia a break.

"She has been up a long time but she came through her last race better than ever," he said.

"While she's winning it's hard to turn her out and I think she will be hard to beat with a bit of luck."
