Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reward For Effort has leapt into calculations for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper with TAB Sportsbet slashing his price to $13.

The Peter Moody-trained colt was at $41 before his dominant victory over Real Saga who remained second favourite for the Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on April 4.

The $1 million Blue Diamond at Caulfield on Saturday was touted as a race in two between Real Saga and the filly Rostova and Moody was not overly confident his charge could beat the pair.

He told Luke Nolen to be positive and Reward For Effort travelled up on the pace while Real Saga was forced to make his run from back in the field.

Favourite for the Slipper is the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous who has been steady at around $5 ahead of her return in Saturday's Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill.

More Joyous was elevated to Slipper favouritism after her debut at Rosehill on January 17 in which she beat Big Birdie by more than five lengths after missing the start and racing greenly in the middle stages.

The filly is a close relation to multiple Group One winner Tuesday Joy who made a winning return to racing in Saturday's Apollo Stakes.

Real Saga is at $6.50 for the Golden Slipper with Essauouira at $11.

Queenslander Streets Away is alongside Reward For Effort at $13 with another Waterhouse filly Horizons at $15 with Tickets.

Rostova, who was not among original entries for the Slipper, had been among the top four but eased out to $21 after the Blue Diamond.

The Waterhouse-trained Theseo has taken a stranglehold on betting for the Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 7 following his all-the-way win in Saturday's St George Stakes.

He is now at $2.40 with Zagreb, Master O'Reilly, Pre Eminence and Baughurst all on the second line of betting at $10.
