Mosheen possible for Randwick Guineas

The Randwick Guineas has been added to the autumn program for star filly Mosheen who beat the colts and geldings to claim Saturday's Australian Guineas at Flemington.

Part-owner Phil Sly said the filly's Sydney campaign also included the Group One options of the Coolmore Classic and the Doncaster Mile or longer races such as the Vinery Stud Stakes and the Australian Oaks.

Mosheen was aided by an inspired ride from Danny Nikolic in the Australian Guineas (1600m) with the complexion of the race changing when favourite Helmet missed the start.

After some well publicised battles with Victorian stewards, Nikolic has struggled over the past year to compete for rides but Sly and Mosheen's trainer Robert Smerdon have been loyal.

"Danny comes and rides three times a week," Sly told TVN.

"We have the facilities for Mosheen to work in the Sydney direction which helps.

"She is a star and she proved it yesterday."

Beyond the Sydney carnival, Sly and his new and excited partner in the filly, prominent Japanese owner Katsumi Yoshida, have plans to race her in Japan.

"I think I'm only a couple of months away from gaining a licence to own horses in Japan," Sly said.

"We also want to get Dan a licence to ride there.

"Mosheen will race there later in the year."

Yoshida and his brothers are Japan's most successful owners and breeders and the 2006 Melbourne Cup quinella of Delta Blues and Pop Rock is a product of their endeavours.

The Randwick Guineas will also feature Saturday's Hobartville Stakes winner Wild And Proud who won the race on protest from Manawanui who also heads to the Guineas.
