Expensive colt Godspeed gets the chance to redeem himself on Saturday but may find his main opposition in the form of his stablemate Hollyweird.

The most expensive yearling sold at public auction in Australia last year at $1.875 million, Godspeed also proved costly for punters when he finished second to Bossdon City on debut at Rosehill last Saturday week.

But trainer Gerald Ryan was not discouraged with Godspeed failing to muster early speed and getting back from his wide alley.

He ran home strongly to get within three-quarters of a length of Bossdon City.

There was better news for the stable 40 minutes later when Hollyweird upset favourite Glissade in the fillies division.

"Godspeed made up plenty of ground which was pleasing," Ryan said.

"I thought the horse ran well, I wasn't disappointed in him.

"I'm not sure about whether Hollyweird will run yet, we'll make up our minds later in the week."

Melbourne jockey Steven Arnold will make the trip to Sydney to partner Godspeed again.

There were 16 entries for the two-year-old race at Randwick including Abstract and Helmet for Sheikh Mohammed and trainer Peter Snowden.

Abstract won her debut at Kembla Grange last Saturday week while Helmet struck his share of trouble when third to Karuta Queen at his debut in October.

The unbeaten Karuta Queen has since won the Magic Millions Classic and is the benchmark juvenile leading into the $3.5 million Golden Slipper on the first Saturday in April.

There were eight nominations for Saturday's 1600m open handicap (1600m) including the Ryan-trained Adnocon and Group One winner Coniston Bluebird.

Red Lord is the highest rated horse in the race on 100 with the Chris Waller-trained Altered Boy on 98 and Adnocon on 96.

Queenslander Joint Chiefs has also been entered and if he backs up from his seventh on Saturday at Rosehill it will be his fourth run in Sydney this month.
