Game Gold Coast sprinter Ghetto Blaster was rewarded for his ultra-consistency when he snatched a narrow win in the $200,000 Lough Neagh Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.

Ghetto Blaster has been plagued by bad barriers this preparation and again drew awkwardly in gate 11 but the alley was negated by a bold Brad Stewart ride.

Stewart went forward on Ghetto Blaster in the early stages and eventually settled midfield, one off the fence.

He then secured a run rounding the home turn and Ghetto Blaster ($5.50)sprinted quickly to wear down the gallant frontrunner Zero Rock ($4.80 fav) for a nose win with Kembla Grange-trained gelding Kenny's World ($13) a length back third in the 1350m feature.

Stewart said he thought he had won but was reluctant to claim victory because Ghetto Blaster and Zero Rock were so far apart when they hit the line.

"I thought I had just got there but we were wide apart," Stewart said.

"I thought I was going to get posted wide but he got over into a nice spot and relaxed well.

"He got out at the right time and he deserved this win."

Winning trainer Gillian Heinrich wasn't sure if Ghetto Blaster had won and praised the horse for his consistency.

"I watched it from a bad angle and when they hit the line I didn't know," she said.

"He's been a really good horse and he does his best all the time."

The Lough Neagh was the second leg of the Doomben Summer Series and Heinrich was unsure if Ghetto Blaster would back up in the final leg, the Bernborough Handicap (1615m) on Boxing Day.

"I'll sleep on that. I'm not ruling the Bernborough out but there is also the Goldmarket Handicap to consider at the Gold Coast as well."

Meanwhile, Deagon trainer Steele Ryan is eyeing another Magic Millions feature after his quality filly Deer Valley scored a devastating win in the Santos Tour Down Under Hcp (1010m).

Starting the well-supported $2.25 favourite, Deer Valley came from second last at the turn to storm home for an impressive win and set up an assault on next month's $1 million Magic Millions Trophy (1400m).

Ryan got a taste of Millions Million glory when Three Little Words won the rich maiden this year and the astute trainer is confident he can savour more success with Deer Valley on January 9.

"She had a soft trial during the week and she showed me then how quickly she could sprint," Ryan said.

"I knew she would be well back today but I also knew she would hit the line hard.

"She's almost spot-on for the Millions now - I'll trial her again in 10 days and that will top her off."

Well ridden by Ryan's emerging apprentice Justin Wood, Deer Valley unleashed an awesome sprint in the straight to grab Startling Pleasure ($17) in the shadows of the post for a half-length win with outsider Al Mazaya ($101) a half-neck back third.
