Classy mare Hot Danish makes her return in Saturday's Group Two Breeder's Classic at Randwick and no-one is happier to see her back than jockey Tim Clark.

The 1200 metre race is Hot Danish's first start since her brilliant win in the Salinger Stakes down the straight at Flemington in November.

The Salinger was a race in which for only the third time in her 12 starts, Hot Danish was not ridden by Clark who has six wins from nine rides on the Les Bridge-trained five-year-old.

Clark damaged a shoulder in a race fall at Warwick Farm in August which kept him out for four months, forcing him to also miss the ride in Group Two The Shorts (1100m) in October when she finished second to Fritz's Princess.

Dan Nikolic rode the mare to her victory in the Group Two Salinger.

Hot Danish and Clark have combined for multiple stakes wins including the Group Two Emancipation Stakes.

"She's one of the best if not the best mare going around and I'd love nothing more than to win a Group One on her," Clark said.

"It was hard watching her win the Salinger but I was cheering her on because we've had such a great combination and I can't wait for Saturday."

The mare came close to a Group One win in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) when second to Eskimo Queen in April last year on a heavy Rosehill track and Bridge said Hot Danish would get another crack at the race in March.

Clark rode Hot Danish to a barrier trial win over 800 metres at Randwick on January 30 and was pleased with the run.

"She's ticking over really well, Les has got her in top shape for the campaign, the trial was strong," Clark said.

Bridge said another tilt at the Doncaster (1600m) in April could be on the agenda.

"It's very much a race by race thing but if she goes well in the Coolmore then we'd have a look at it for sure," Bridge said.

"So far everything is going along nicely, she trialled well and hopefully she'll kick things off with a big run in the Breeder's Classic."

Hot Danish finished ninth in the 2008 Doncaster won by Triple Honour on a heavy track.
