Les Bridge has no hesitation in labelling Hot Danish the best mare he has trained.

One of Sydney's most popular gallopers due to her consistency, Hot Danish will kick off her spring campaign in the Group Three Research Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Bridge has put the polish on the likes of Queensland Oaks winner Joie Denise and multiple stakes winner Miss Zoe but he rates Hot Danish superior to them both.

"I've had some good mares, Miss Zoe and Joie Denise, but she's the best," Bridge said of Hot Danish who has won 10 of her 17 starts.

Hot Danish has not raced since her fourth to Danleigh in the All-Aged Stakes at Randwick during the autumn carnival.

It was a frustrating campaign for the bonny mare who was hampered by rain-affected tracks in four of her five runs, dulling her brilliant finishing burst.

Bridge is hoping for firmer tracks this spring and is yet to lock in a program for Hot Danish, preferring to wait and see what the weather does in both Sydney and Melbourne.

"Her mission is the Myer Classic but I'll wait until after Saturday to map out her leadup races," Bridge said.

"She will probably go to Melbourne after Saturday's race.

"We'll chase the sunshine, she's had enough wet tracks."

Hot Danish has won four of her five first-up runs with a second to Research Stakes rival Fritz's Princess in last year's The Shorts the only blot to that copybook.

Hot Danish conceded Fritz's Princess 1.5kg in that race and will have to give her four kilos on Saturday after being lumped with topweight of 61kg.

She did score an explosive win in the Wiggle Quality under the same impost last campaign and Bridge isn't overly concerned.

"It's always a bit of a worry when they've got that sort of weight but she's big and strong and she's a good weight carrier," Bridge said.

"She should be able to carry the weight in that sort of race."

Regular rider Tim Clark will again be aboard in the Research which has attracted a handy field including the up-and-coming Madame Pedrille who took her record to four wins from six starts when she resumed with a first-up victory at Rosehill last month.
