Adept at the distance, luckless last start, down in weight, top jockey...There are some solid factors signalling that (6) Constant Force 13/1 should be an eachway special for race 7, the Kyneton Cup 2000m at Kyneton on Wednesday. The Jeune 7YO, from the Bill & Symon Wilde stable at Warrnambool, was blocked for clear running from the 400m to the post when 8th/11 to Esprit Rossa in an Open hdcp 1600m at Moonee Valley on Oct 25. He was btn 3.6 lens but went to the line untested. At his previous start, in Listed company and first-up from a break of 3 months, Constant Force ran 4 lens 8th/10 to British General at Caulfield 1400m on Oct 12. That’s a sound formline. He’s had 11 starts at 2000m for 4 wins so the 2000m will be no problem. Weightwise, he carried 60kgs (Lt55) at the Valley and now drops to the Limit 54kgs. Finally, the terrific young rider Damien Lane is aboard. As for dangers, I am wary of the Danny O’Brien trained (3) Keep Cool 8/1. The 7YO is capable of much better than his last start 10th/13 in the Bart Cummings Quality (Listed) 2520m at Flem on Oct 5.
