Son of Towkay who looked mightily impressive when running away with a 1400m R65 event at Ellerslie on the last day of March. Promising apprentice rider Rory Hutchings had the gelding travelling nicely three back on the outer and eased him wide to challenge at the 400m. The horse did the rest; galloping powerfully down the middle of the track in the run home to coast home by two lengths. He had previously cleared maidens at Te Rapa by a narrow margin and then ran sixth at Ellerslie prior to his aforementioned success. I'm positive he has at least one more victory in him before the inevitable wet tracks start to bite.
